Today I had a customer with the first name of Chard.

How about Sprout? Brussel Sprout... sounds almost cool. Just almost...
Far Side, actual normal names - the English translation of:
* Brother
* Little-Mother
* Steering bear
* Thor-bear
* Male (so that if you're uncertain, you wont have to check)
* Moon-goer
Yes...veggie and fruit names are in for newborns. I like legume for a boy. :)
'"Leave mummy with her wine."'
What a future your little vegetable has lying in wait.
I prefer to name children after my favorite pies.
Key Lime
Lemon Merangue
Chocolate Silk (went to the black side for a bit)
Strawberry Rhubarb
etc..
I love pie.
Is Potato a girl or a boy? I think that carrot is female but turnip is definitely a boy name.
I know someone called leaf. Does that count?
Zucinni. (Is that how you spell it?)
Zuc for short.
I like it.
I just assumed it was short for Chardonnay.
Pffft, if everyone else was jumping off a cliff would you?
Create your own In Thing. I'm never having kids, but when I do they'll be called after cool viking names:
"Aren't you cute little Stormhammer?"
or, you could combo:
"Uh oh, who has your nose Lief Destroyer Of Men?"
I like turnip. But it puts me in mind of a plain child with a very (VERY) big head, and possibly slightly slow. Maybe you can acaive this if you drop it on its head?
Parsnip for a boy. Carrot for a girl.
Is this the right place to proposition Adam? I'd quite like a Lief Destroyer Of Men about the place...
Heart of Darkness, I think that Thor-bear sounds kind of cool. Sometimes guys are named Guy here, which is sort of the same.
A Novelist, fruit names do seem to be genuinely pretty common, don't they? That famous couple who named their kid Apple. That other couple who named their kid Grape. Ok, so maybe I can only think of one.
Don Quixote, as long as Potato fetches my wine in the first place before going out and playing, we'll get along just fine. Actually, I might teach him to pop down the bottlo and buy it for me, too. That's what kids are for, right?
MHE, your comment has made me realise that I am sadly deprived of pie. In fact, I can't remember the last time I ate some pie. Now I am going to drool all day.
Londongirl, yes, I think Leaf counts. I think Potato is one of those names that could suit either a boy or a girl, sort of like Terry or Kerry or Tracy.
Steph, with ideas like that, this vegetable thing could EXPLODE into popularity any minute.
Miss Wired, the only thing is that Chard was a bloke, and he didn't pronounce it with a soft C. But I like your thinking.
Adam, cliff? Where is this cliff? Stormhammer! I suspect that this name may already be in popularity amongst characters on American soap operas. I most definitely prefer viking names to vegetable names, though. Is it the new In Thing? Because I'll jump on the bandwagon if it is...
Phishez, right, next kid I drop on their head shall be known as Turnip. We could name them after the vegetable they most resemble. For example, Bean for a kid who is full of energy and Potato for somebody who is round and dirty.
Pomgirl, that's just perfect, isn't it. Anatomically similar, except one's a bit bigger and normally has a couple of strange bits sticking out of it, the other is smooth and svelte and bright. Just like real humans!
Nails, sure, what the hey. And then when you have your little viking child you can say "I propositioned his father in GBE's comments" and I'll feel like I have served some sort of purpose in this life.
So I'd be a "Potato" then. Only I'm not physically dirty...
Still good to know!
I like Kale, Romaine, Greenleaf, Mescaline.. no? Or you could go w/ last name of Donney.. get it? I think I'm funny.. Kids' names could be Shiraz, Pinot, Malbec, Reisling.. Rose.. it could happen!
